Early Learning Centres
(Long Day Care 6 weeks to 5 years)
Located within the grounds of Macquarie University are Banksia
Cottage and Gumnut Cottage. Both Early Childhood environments
provide safe, healthy, sustainable, nurturing environments in which
children, are able to develop to their full potential.
Our teams of Early Childhood practitioners are professional in
their approach to the care and education of children, using their
knowledge and experience in child development and current research
to plan, implement and evaluate a program of learning experiences
for children.
Each Centre values and supports diversity, providing a unique
environment and philosophy for the care and education of children
and provide above required staff child ratios for children of all
age groups.
Both Centres cater for students and staff of
Macquarie University and the surrounding community and are
accreditated by the National Childcare Accreditation Council and
licensed by NSW Community Services.

Both Centres are closed on public holidays for 2 weeks over the
christmas period.
